A Royal Northern College of Music or RNCM occurs as conservatoire in Manchester, England. Set within Oxford Road in Manchester City Centre, at a northern prevent of the university area. Additionally to existence a centre of education, the RNCM besides functions as an arts centre holding concerts of virtually all genres, Opera & more musical cases. Its todays principle is the composer Professor Edward Gregson.

A roots of the college commence in the late 19th Century using Sir Charles Hallé's Royal Manchester College of Music (see as well: Hallé Orchestra). Around 1973, a Royal Manchester College of Music and the Northern School of Music merged to create a modern-contemporary RNCM.

Presently a college offers two undergrad (BMus & a joint MusB/GRNCM course by using the University of Manchester) & graduate computer program (PGDip, MMus) inside performance & composition.

Based on data from RNCM numbers, a student people is 589, using 420 undergrad & 169 grad student; 49% male, 51% female. By using 265 academic staff, there is a high student-to-staff ratio.

When of January 2005, a RNCM has been awarded £3,750,000 per Higher Education Funding Council for Engl& to become a recognised Centre for Excellence around Teaching and Learning (CETL), the single UK conservatory to be selected.
